Harvesting: Harvest the root in November & clean thoroughly before storing. It will last well in the crisper.
Medicinal Uses: Grated root mixed with water creates a heat-producing, pain-relieving compress for pain or stiff muscles. It is a good diuretic to flush the kidneys.
Culinary Uses: Horseradish sauce is used with beef and can be pickled.
Cultural Requirements: Rich, humus soil that has been deeply worked so the roots can penetrate easily. Full sun or part shade.
